Same-Day vs. Next-Day vs. Standard Delivery: What’s the Difference?
When you’re ordering flowers, delivery speed options can be confusing — and picking the wrong one can mean a bouquet that arrives a day (or three) later than you expected. Here’s a simple breakdown to help you choose the right option for your situation.
Standard Delivery (3–4 Business Days)
This is our default delivery option and the most budget-friendly choice for occasions you’re planning a few days ahead — anniversaries, upcoming birthdays, or “just because” surprises with no strict deadline. Standard delivery gives our florists time to source the freshest seasonal blooms and gives our courier partners flexibility in routing, which helps keep costs down.
Next-Day Delivery
Available for orders placed before the daily cutoff time (typically 11:00 AM local time), next-day delivery is the right choice when you need flowers to arrive tomorrow — for a birthday you almost forgot, or a last-minute thank-you. Availability depends on the recipient’s ZIP code, so it’s worth checking at checkout before you commit to a delivery date.
What Affects Delivery Speed?
A few factors influence how quickly your order can be fulfilled:
– **Recipient’s location** — some ZIP codes have more frequent courier routes than others
– **Order cutoff time** — orders placed after the daily cutoff move to the next available slot
– **Season and demand** — major flower holidays like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day can extend delivery windows due to high order volume
– **Weather** — severe weather can occasionally delay courier routes, for everyone’s safety
Our Tip: When in Doubt, Order Early
Even if next-day or same-day delivery is available, ordering a day or two ahead of when you actually need the flowers gives you a buffer against unexpected delays — and it usually means a wider selection of arrangements to choose from too.
